EVIDENCE GIVEN AGAINST TUAM WASTE OPERATOR IN COMPETITION CASE

A rival of a Tuam waste disposal company, which is on trial at the Central Criminal Court, has been giving evidence in court today.Michael Monaghan, of Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, is the main prosecution witness in the case against WERS Waste and its managing director, Paul Gleeson and 4 other individuals and 2 other waste companies.They're charged under the Competition Act relating to a tender for waste disposal for Mayo County Council in 2005.WERS Waste and Paul Gleeson deny the charges.
