EAST GALWAY LANDFILL BREACHES WASTE CONDITIONS

A Controversial landfill located near Ballinsloe has been issued with a notification of non -compliance with its waste licence due to the detection of both gas and waste odours.Today's Irish Times reports that the non-compliance notice was issued to the Greenstar owned site in Kilconnel following an inspection by the office of enviromental enforcement.However, Greenstar has replied to the notice saying a significant amount of work has taken place to reduce gas and waste emissions since the inspection was carried out.
