DEADLINE FOR PIPE REPLACEMENT EXTENDED

The deadline for applications to avail of the council grant to have lead piping replaced in private households in Shantalla has been extended.The deadline expired today but Galway City Council announced it would now accept applications until the end of October.Householders who currently avail of the Council refuse waiver scheme or are in receipt of a pension or social welfare payment are entitled to apply for the grant.In addition private householders who wish to have their lead piping replaced by the company that carried out similar works in Mervue are asked to contact the Shantalla Residents' Association.
