COUNTY COUNCIL URGED TO TAKE MORE ACTION OVER TUAM SWIMMING POOL

Galway County Council Management have come under scrutiny for not taking a more pivotal role in the operation of Tuam swimming pool.
At this afternoon's meeting of the council in the city, members heard just 45 percent of the pool's roster is allocated for public access.
This compares to an allocation of 85 percent under the previous operator.
Tuam area councillor Colm Keaveney told the meeting that management at Galway county council had to take a more active role in dealing with the Kingfisher group who are currently charged with the day to day running of the pool.
