Agriculture Minister Brendan Smith's decision to close three Department of Agriculture offices in East Galway is further evidence of the Government's lack of commitment to farming. That's according to County Councillor Peter Feeney who is strongly criticising today's announcement that local offices in Tuam, Loughrea and Athenry are to be closed. The Government is moving their functions to a single office in the city. Cllr Feeney says it might suit the Department but it won't suit Galway farmers.
