Connemara Councillors have now agreed that the ban on the sale of single houses in the Gaeltacht should not in general last for more than 7 years. An earlier proposal that there should be a sale ban of 15 years on single houses in Gaeltacht areas west of Galway had caused controversy. However, at a further meeting about the Gaeltacht Area plan yesterday the Connemara Councillors agreed that 7 year sale ban would be long enough.
