Colour Run fun event planned for the Salthill Prom
Event is being held as part of European Week of Sport
A 2k Colour Run will take place along the Prom in Salthill next weekend as part of BeActive Night, an event being held to encourage people of all ages to have fun, whilst being active.
The event, which is being held during European Week of Sport, will take place on Saturday, 26 September, commencing at Ladies Beach in Salthill. Participants are invited to run, walk, roll, or dance their way along the route while being showered in bursts of colours along the way.
This year's event will see a particular focus on inclusion and accessibility, beginning with an Inclusive Colour Run at 5pm. This earlier event will have measures in place to support people that may have sensory needs associated with the colour powder.
Inclusive registration opens at 4.30pm; while the general Colour Run registration opens at 5.45pm with a light Warm-up and music, and the run itself beginning at 6.15pm
Registration for both events is also available at www.GalwayActive.ie.
A limited number of event t-shirts are available, and people are asked to wear appropriate clothing for the weather and occasion. Lululemon will donate complimentary water bottles to the first 100 participants who register for the event.
