CLIFDEN AIRSTRIP EXPANSION GETS GREEN LIGHT

Plans to upgrade Clifden airstrip have been given the green light. An Bord Pleanála has upheld a decision by the county council to grant permission to the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs to expand the airstrip at Cloon, Clifden. The works at Clifden airstrip will include the building of a new 53 space car park, the relocation of the airstrip apron and taxi-way 180 metres towards the Cleggan to Clifden Road, the realignment of the access road and modifications to the airstrip boundary at Cloon, Clifden. A bus set-down area will also be provided.
