CITY SHOE RETAIL GROUP GOES INTO ADMINISTRATION

Shoe retail group Barrats, which has a store in the city, has gone into administration.

The outlet in Eyre Square Shopping Centre employs 8 full time and 3 part time staff.

Deloitte, the business advisory firm, says it's been appointed joint administrators over the Barratts Priceless Group.

A downturn in trading is being blamed for the move as well as the unseasonably mild weather this year.

The company is based in Bradford in Britain and trades as Barratts and Priceless Shoes and has a number of stores in Ireland.
