CITY MAN JAILED FOR BURGLARY AND SAMURAI SWORD ATTACK

A convicted burglar was jailed for twenty months yesterday at Galway District Court for a series of further burglaries and for attacking his cousin with a samurai sword.Frank Barrett, aged 27, of 173 Castlepark, Ballybane, Galway, pleaded guilty to assaulting Matthew Barrett, causing him harm, and to possession of a samurai sword outside McGreal’s shop, Ballybane, on January 11 last.
