CITY MAN GETS 15 MONTHS IN PRISON FOR HEROIN CONVICTION

A man caught with over 2,000 euro worth of heroin in his possession in a house in the city, has been sentenced to fifteen months in prison.38 year-old Michael Togher, of 9 Munster Avenue, was convicted at Galway District Court of having heroin in his possession and with having the drug for sale or supply to another at a house in the Claddagh, on April 6, 2008.Hearing the accused had three previous convictions for possession of drugs, Judge Mary Fahy sentenced him to twelve months in prison for having heroin for sale or supply and she imposed a consecutive three-month sentence on him for having the drug in his possession.
