CITY BUSINESSMAN HEADS UP NEW PRO EUROPE GROUP

Galway city political activitist Neil McNeilis is involved in setting up a new Pro-European group to explain the workings of the EU. 'Irish Friends of Europe' will stage a series of debates and host public information evenings in advance of next June's European Parliament elections. Labour party activist and city businessman Neil McNeilis was co-ordinator of the Lisbon Yes campaign on behalf of the Alliance for Europe. Membership of the 'Irish Friends of Europe' is cross-party and is made up of business groups, academics as well as social organisations and concerned citizens.
