CALL FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION OVER DEMOLITION OF CITY HOUSE

A city Councillor is demanding that immediate action be taken regarding the demolition of a house in the Shantalla area.Councillor Collette Connolly says planning permission was granted to demolish a side extension to a house at 1 Carrick Road, Shantalla.However, she claims the whole house has been demolished which has impacted negatively on the adjoining house.While a warning letter was sent to the developer relating to compliance with planning conditions, this was later withdrawn when the Enforcement Officer stated that all conditions were complied with.Councillor Connolly says at no point in the application was it stated that the development included the demolition of the whole house.
