Boston Scientific has issued assurances its Galway plant will NOT be affected by the decision to close its plant in Tullamore. The US multinational announced yesterday that the Tullamore plant would close next year with operations there being transferred to Cork. 240 jobs will be lost from the Tullamore plant from the middle of next year. A spokesperson for Boston Scientific has told Galway Bay FM News that the Tullamore plant is a completely separate entity from the Galway plant and manufactured a different product. She said no jobs would be lost in Galway and no extra operations will be moving here.
