BONE FRAGMENTS DISCOVERED IN LOUGHREA

An archaeologist from the Department of the Environment will this morning examine fragments of bone found in Loughrea.Several pieces of bone were unearthed early yesterday morning by council workers repairing a footpath near the old Protestant church on Church Street.The find was immediately reported to local Gardaí who said they weren't treating the discovery as suspicious.It is not known at this stage if the bones are human or animal.
