Barnaderg community urged to use local post office to prevent feared closure

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Barnaderg action group has warned the community that the future of its post office is not yet safe. It's after An Post granted a 12 month reprieve on its closure. The review period will see the Post Office remain open until July 2015 to determine the viability of the service. It's now nearly six months since submissions were sought from the public on retaining the service. The Action Group has now asked An Post to establish a strategic planning group to identify options to maintain the viability of the facility. Bernard Keely of the Action Group says the local community must ensure the post office is used at every opportunity.
