Bank of Ireland has secured judgment for almost 8 million euro against a County Galway man who is facing a fraud trial in Britain over eggs.

Mr Justice Peter Kelly granted the €7.9 million judgment against 48 year old Pearse Piggott, a former Galway hurling star and his wife, Noelle from Ballyglennon, Gort.

Mr. Piggott is facing trial in Britain in March for an alleged multimillion-euro fraud involving eggs being falsely passed on to British consumers as free-range organic eggs.
