BALLYBANE STABBING ACCUSED SENT FORWARD FOR TRIAL

A man charged with stabbing another man in Ballybane at the start of race week has been sent forward for trial at Galway Circuit Criminal Court. 23 year old Yaw Anakwa Oppong, of 16 Glendara, Rahoon, was served with the book of evidence against him at Galway District Court this week. [21/10]Judge Mary Fahy gave Oppong an alibi warning and granted him free legal aid. Oppong was remanded in custody to next appear before Galway Circuit Criminal Court on November 10th.
