BALLINASLOE COUNCIL SEEKS MEETING WITH MINISTER OVER MATERNITY SERVICES

Ballinalsoe Town Council is to seek an urgent meeting with the Minister for Health over fears about the future of the maternity department at Portiuncula Hospital.

Earlier this week, Galway East T.D Ulick Burke claimed an unpublished report suggests dividing East Galway maternity services between University Hospital Galway and Tullamore.

The issue was raised at this week's meeting of the Town Council.
