20 percent increase in lifeboat launches in Galway
Galway Bay fm newsroom - Lifeboats in the Galway area launched a total of 44 times during the Summer months.
According to statistics from the RNLI, Aran Islands all weather lifeboat saw the highest number of launches at 18.
The Galway inshore lifeboat launched 16 times between June and August, while Clifden's inshore lifeboat was called out 10 times.
Lifeboats were launched a total of 44 times during the summer in Galway, compared to 35 times in the summer last year, an increase of 20 percent.
