There are major changes in store for people seeking planning permission for single houses in the Gaelthacht in Connemara.A motion was provisionally agreed at last evenings County Council meeting where a 15 year enurement clause will now be attached to all planning permission given to houses being built in Connemara. This clause will mean that from the day any planning permission is granted for a house, it may not be sold for fifteen years unless it's sold to a person with fluent Irish OR a non-irish speaking person with a housing need. The proposed changes to the Gaelthacht plan will now go on public display where all submissions will be taken into consideration at the next council meeting where the development plan will be finalised.
