GARDAI CONTINUE QUESTIONING OF MEN OVER ATTEMPTED CREGGS ROBBERY

Date Published: 28-Jul-2012
Gardaí are continuing to question three men in their 30s in relation to an attempted post office robbery in Creggs last Monday.
At Carrick on Shannon District Court yesterday, a Judge granted an extension of time to detain the men.
All three, with Roscommon addresses, were arrested on Wednesday and are being held at Ballinasloe and Galway Garda stations.
On Monday afternoon, two masked men, armed with what's believed to be a shot gun, threatened staff as they attempted to rob O Rourkes shop and post office.
The raiders didn't manage to steal anything - and fled the scene in a black SUV, which has since been recovered.
