Comedian Kevin McGahern takes to the stage at The Mall Theatre and Arts Centre on Friday, March 13 at 8pm.

McGahern is widely known as a comedian and actor, with roles in ‘The Hardy Bucks’, ‘Bridget and Eamon’ and ‘Republic of Telly’ to his name, as well as hosting RTÉs ‘Clear History’. He has performed stand-up at major comedy festivals such as Kilkenny Cat Laughs, the Vodafone Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe, where he was selected as one of the Pick of the Fringe acts to perform in London.

"Kevin is an extremely talented comedian and we're so excited for this event," said host Katie Harrington. "Our goal is to bring comedians to Tuam whom you might ordinarily need to travel to see, to offer people a fun, handy and affordable night out."

McGahern is a regular performer in leading Irish comedy clubs, including the International Bar in Dublin. Audiences may also know him from his podcast ‘The Lovely Show’, which he co‑hosts with comedian Justine Stafford. Support on the night will be from Ballinasloe-native Breda Larkin of the comedy duo, the Wild Geeze.

This instalment of Tuam After Dark follows a successful previous event, with organisers saying they were keen to bring another strong line-up back to the town.

Doors for the show will open at 7.30pm, and it will run until 10pm. The event is suitable for ages 16+, and group discounts are currently available.

The Mall Theatre and Arts Centre host a wide range of live performances and community arts events, including the Tuam After Dark series, which aims to bring high-quality comedy talent to the region and support the growth of local arts audiences.
