Poetry in motion at in-person showcase
The annual Over The Edge Poetry Book Showcase will take place at Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop, Middle Street, Galway next Friday, February 11, starting at 6pm.
For this retrospective of the past year, poets who are based in the West of Ireland and who published new books during 2021, will each be invited to read three poems from these collections.
Readers will include Mary Madec, Jessie Lendennie, Danielle Holian, Jenny Farrell, Joe Woods, Kenneth Hickey, Liz Quirke, Lorna Shaughnessy, Denis Mockler, Kevin Higgins and Susan Millar DuMars, among others.
There will also be readings from three anthologies; Local Wonders, Land of the Ever Young and Days of Clear Light: A Festschrift in Honour of Jessie Lendennie and in Celebration of Salmon Poetry at 40, which features contributions from several Galway-based poets.
