Musicians tune up for Sea Road Sessions

Six critically acclaimed traditional and folk musicians from Ireland, Scotland and Sweden will play the City’s Crane Bar on Thursday, January 8, as part of a nationwide tour of Ireland.
The gigs are entitled the Sea Road Sessions, a reference to the maritime route historically linking Sweden, Scotland and Ireland, where most of the musicians in the six-piece line up hail from.
The group is made up of Galway based accordion player Alan Kelly, flautist/singer Steph Geremia from America (also Galway based), singer/guitarist Kris Drever from Scotland, guitarist Ian Carr from England, banjoist Éamonn Coyne from Ireland, and bassist Staffan Lindors from Sweden. These six critically acclaimed musicians have frequently crossed paths on the US and European festival circuits in their various projects.
They are now pooling their talents and diverse repertoires for this ensemble show, which will play nine venues in Ireland before travelling to the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow.
