Menopause the Musical returns to the Town Hall Theatre next Tuesday and Wednesday with the cast for this latest production consisting of comedian Katherine Lynch from RTÉ’s Wagon’s Den, Cheryl Fergison from EastEnders, Maureen Nolan from the Nolans and Rebecca Wheatley from Casualty.

This musical about a hot topic, involves four women who meet a department stores lingerie sale. All they have in common is a black lace bra and hot flushes, night sweats, memory loss, chocolate binges, not enough sex, too much sex and similar female mid-life traumas.

It’s nearly 20 years since Menopause the Musical, written by Jeanie Linders, made its debut in March 2001 in Orlando Florida – since when it has become an international hit.

That’s due in large part to its popularity among menopausal women who helped ground-breaking show blow the lid off the "silent passage" by flocking to it in large numbers. Its subsequent success off-Broadway led to a number of productions across the USA and within a few years, it hit the world stage.  Moe than eleven million people (almost all women) have seen the show and it continues to pack them in.

Menopause the Musical runs next Tuesday and Wednesday, March 26 and 27, at the Town Hall  with two shows nightly, at 6pm and 8.30pm. It’s for aged 16 years and older. Tickets.€35, at tht.ie, 091-569777 and at the box office.
