Family concert this Saturday
A fun-filled family concert will take place at the Town Hall Theatre this Saturday, February 22, courtesy of the Whistle Blast Quartet.
This group is made up of Kenneth Edge (saxophones and clarinet), Mary Curran (French horn), Síle Daly (oboe and cor anglais) and Andrew Synnott (piano). They will perform music from Saint Saen’s Danse Macabre, Bizet’s Carmen, well known Irish tunes, a new work by composer John Buckley, film themes and more.
The Whistle Blast Quartet prides itself on making live classical music accessible to all and this programme, with musical arrangements by Kenneth Edge, is aimed at generating interest among young people and their families in live music.
This event is presented by Baboró Children’s Festival as part of the Quartet’s Family Classics tour. It’s on at 3pm this Saturday and tickets cost €10/5 online from tht.ie, by phone at 091-569777 or from the box-office.
