Galway Baroque Singers are teaming up with the Dun Laoghaire Choral Society under its conductor David Brophy for an exciting and ambitious new 18-month project called Choral Fusion, which will see concerts performed in Galway and in Dublin.

Choral Fusion is a double choir series which unites the two ensembles and will see five concerts performed in Dublin and Galway on consecutive weekends.

The choirs will be joined by the Fishamble Sinfonia and a host of up-and-coming soloists for the events.

The first set of concerts is a performance of Handel’s Solomon, with the Galway concert taking place on Saturday November 19, at 8pm in Galway Cathedral. The Dublin concert will take place in St Ann’s Church on Dawson Street the week before on Saturday, November 12.

Next year will be a busy one for the groups, with three Choral Fusion concerts. These will start in March, with works by Lully and Charpentier, followed by a Vivaldi concert in June. The final concert of 2017 will be in November and will feature works by Bach and Haydn.

The final concert will take place in March 2018 with a return to Handel and his Israel in Egypt.
