CosCéim double bill at the Town Hall Theatre

CoisCéim Dance Theatre will visit the Town Hall on Tuesday, April 1 with a double bill, Duets. One piece celebrates things people pass on and inherit, while the other explores the darker side of life.
Swimming with My Mother is a joyful piece performed by David and his mother, Madge. In this intimate and award-winning dance, their life stories are told with humour to the tones of Nat King Cole.
Missing, meanwhile, explores the emotions that ensue when a loved one disappears. This poignant duet examines the experiences of families and communities left behind. Missing is a reminder of the fragility of life and beauty of moments shared. David Bolger describes it as “a dance poem” to those who are not present and to those left in the abyss of the unknown.
It will be performed by the award-winning dancer Emma O’Kane, a longtime member of CosCéim who trained with the Perm State Choreographic School in Russia, and Tom Pritchard, a Glasgow based performer, improviser and facilitator working in dance, theatre, poetry and improvisation.
Duets is on Tuesday, April 1, at 8pm. Tickets €18/14 from tht.ie, or 091-569777.
