Ballinasloe show for country singer Shane Owens

Eighteen-year-old country singer Shane Owens will play the Carlton Shearwater Hotel this Sunday, May 31, to launch his new, live dance show.
Shane was born in Reading just outside London to parents from Co Cavan, and fell in love with Irish country music at the age of three. He would raid his father’s record collection at every opportunity and listen for endless hours to Mick Flavin and Mike Denver alongside American legends such as Waylon Jennings, George Jones and Willie Nelson. When he was five, Shane performed the classic song, Country Roads on stage at his local Irish club. He was bitten by the bug then, and has never looked back.
Shane continued to perform on the Irish club scene with his father and this apprenticeship has served him well as he now prepares to bring his style of country and dance music to Ireland’s leading venues.
He comes here, after signing a deal with J&C Promotions, the top Irish company on the Irish country dance circuit. J&C launched a campaign last November to find Ireland’s next country superstar, and received over 500 responses. After countless auditions, voice and screen tests, Shane came out on top.
The managing director of J&C, well-known broadcaster Joe Finnegan feels that “Shane Owens has what it takes to be a huge international star . . . already we see great potential in this talented young man”.
Ireland has always been a home away from home for Shane. All school holidays were spent in Cavan with his parents and his new career will see him take up residence in the Breffni County.
The man being tipped as “Ireland’s newest singing sensation” is in Ballinasloe this Sunday, with his new dance show. For more information contact 0909 630400.
