RTÉ confirms commentators and pundits for Galway's clash with Cork

THE GALWAY senior hurlers All-Ireland Championship semi-final clash with Cork takes centre stage this weekend.
Galway face Cork on Saturday at 3:30pm in Croke Park and the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship semi-final will be shown live on RTÉ One with coverage getting underway at 3pm. Joanne Cantwell will be joined by ex Cork hurler Donal Óg Cusack and former Galway hurler Joe Canning for live coverage on The Saturday Game Live.
Marty Morrissey and former Tipperary goalkeeper Brendan Cummins will be providing commentary on RTÉ One of the big game. It will form part of a double header with Waterford taking on Kilkenny in the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship quarter-final throwing in at 1pm.
Galway will wear white jerseys during the All-Ireland SHC semi-final. Both counties tossed for their choice of jerseys, and Cork won the toss. The Rebels will wear red jerseys during the All-Ireland semi-final. This decision was made to avoid a colour clash between the counties. Limerick native Johnny Murphy takes charge of the All-Ireland semi-final.
In recent National League meetings, Galway wore a black jersey last season when the counties met. Meanwhile, when the counties played in a Teddy McCarthy Memorial exhibition game in 2023, the Tribesmen wore a blue jersey.
Galway have defeated Cork in the last five competitive meetings between the sides, occurring in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2022. Cork’s last win against this weekend’s opponents came in the 2008 championship.
