O’Donnellan and Joyce Auctioneers in Galway have described their latest auction results as “tremendous” – with around €4 million worth of property sales achieved.

Properties throughout Ireland – from Galway to Donegal, down to Kerry and even out to the island of Inisbofin along with a number in Dublin – went under the hammer, attracting local, national and international interest.

Among the local properties that sold were:

33 River Crest, Tuam. A two-bed semi situated on the outskirts of the town, just off the Dublin Road, in need of modernisation. Three bidders went head-to-head and it sold for €90,000, which was €20,000 over the Advised Minimum Value.

Former Garda Station and residence, Kiltullagh, Athenry. This detached bungalow residence is situated on a substantial site with adjoining self-contained office. The property is presented in good condition but could benefit from some upgrade works. After intense bidding, it sold for €240,000 – well over the reserve of €175,000.

151 Seacrest, Knocknacarra, Galway. A four-bed semi overlooking a central green space on a quiet cul de sac. The AMV was €375,000 and the property, which could benefit from modernisation, was sold for €370,000.

Middlequarter, Inishbofin. This derelict traditional cottage overlooking the harbour attracted intense bidding from seven clients located “throughout Ireland and overseas”, according to the selling agents. Bidding commenced at the guide price of €100,000 and it sold for €190,000.

6 Oakley Crescent, Highfield Park, Galway. This substantial four-bed semi in a popular location came to the market with an AMV of €450,000. It sold at €440,000.

37 Tur Uisce, Doughiska, Galway. This is a three-storey terraced residence located on the east side of Galway City. Close to Briarhill Shopping Centre, it was described as an ideal owner-occupier residence or a superb investment property. The AMV was €230,000 and a sale was agreed following the auction.
