Salthill house among €3.6 million worth of property sales recorded at auction

Around €3.6 million worth of property sales were recorded at an O’Donnellan & Joyce auction last week, with residences in Galway City being the best performing.
The ‘star performer’ was a 4-bed detached house at 39 Churchfields in Lower Salthill, which sold for €500,000 – which was €70,000 over its Advised Minimum Value.
Also at the auction, three properties at the Dún na Coiribe development on the Headford Road went under the hammer. Number 166, a 4-bed detached which attracted more than 100 people during open viewings, opened at €310,000, and following an intense period of bidding, the hammer fell at €385,000. The AMV was €325,000.
Some of the other properties sold included a large 4-bed end of terrace at Number 136 sold after 10 bids for €310,000, which was €15,000 over its AMV.
No 14, a 3-bed duplex measuring 1,117 sq ft, sold for €265,000, which was €15,000 over the AMV.
A site at Lough Atalia in the city – which has full planning for a five-storey apartment building with five apartments – attracted “enormous interest” from developers and individuals hoping to secure the site for a private residence, according to the agents. It had an AMV of €350,000 and sold prior to the auction for an undisclosed figure.
A 2-bed first floor apartment at Clan House on Dominick Street in ‘the West’ in the city sold for €175,000 which was €10,000 over the AMV.
