Things are about to take another turn on the weather front

Met Eireann has updated their weather forecast for the rest of the week after an out of sync day on Monday.

Several counties experienced a balmy 24C on Monday while others, especially us in the west, got the short end of the stick with heavy rain the order of the day.

Temperatures for Tuesday are going to be a bit lower but actual conditions are set to be a bit better with a fresh day of sunny spells and passing showers promised as the dial hits 19C.

Tuesday night will be mostly dry also but scattered showers will become confined to the west as temperatures dip to single digits of 8C.

Here’s Met Eireann’s updated weather forecast for the week:

Overview: “Breezy most days with scattered showers. Wetter in places on Friday.”

Tomorrow: “Wednesday will be a dry day generally with a mix of cloud and some sunny spells. However, thickening cloud will feed in patches of drizzle to Atlantic counties, with more general rain following in the evening. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees, in a mostly moderate west to southwest breeze.”

Wednesday night: “Wet and rather breezy weather across Atlantic counties will push eastwards early on. Clear spells and well-scattered showers will follow in turn for the rest of the night. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.”

Thursday: “A breezy day with sunny spells and scattered showers. Showers will be most frequent across the west and northwest with parts of the southeast staying dry. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in a rather brisk westerly breeze.”

Friday: “Rather wet and breezy during the morning with cloudy outbreaks of rain occurring widely. The rain will ease into the afternoon, but it will remain fairly cloudy with patchy rain or drizzle for the rest of the day. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees, in a moderate, occasionally fresh, southwesterly wind.”
