VICTIM OF TUAM MECHANICAL INCIDENT NAMED LOCALLY

The victim of a fatal mechanical incident in the Tuam area last evening [May 29] has been named locally as Joe Ruttledge.
The 47 year old Portumna native was fatally injured as he was working on the hydraulics of a lorry at Wers Waste on the Galway Road.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Health and Safety Authority has been alerted.
Gardai are treating the incident as a tragedy.
