Up to 40 psychiatric nurses protest outside UHG
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Up to 40 people have gathered at University Hospital Galway this lunchtime to call on the government to recognise the needs of mental health services at the hospital. The protest is being led by the Psychiatric Nurses Association. Staff at the acute psychiatric unit are staging the demonstration over what they're describing as inadequate staffing levels at the 45-bed unit. They claim that a lack of appropriate staff is putting both employees and patients at risk.
