'The banks got bailed out, we get sold out'.

That’s the message on a banner which led about 100 people in a demonstration march in the city centre this afternoon.

Organised by the Occupy Galway camp, it was against the Government’s decision to pay over 700 million euro to unsecured bondholders of Anglo Irish bank.

The group also included members of the public who protested against cuts to carers allowances, cuts to student grants and those against the household charge.

The group marched from Eyre Square to the Anglo Irish Bank at Forster Street.
