TWO MEN REMANDED IN CUSTODY IN CITY ASSAULT INVESTIGATION

Two men have been remanded in custody in connection with an assault on a woman this weekend in the city.

The men, both aged in their late 20s, appeared at a special sitting of Galway District Court this afternoon.

They were arrested yesterday [Oct 8] under Section 4 of the Crimincal Justice Act following an assault on a woman in her 20s, in a laneway off Merchants road.

The attack took place at approximately 4am on Saturday morning.

The two men will appear again at Harristown District Court next Friday October 14th.
