A man who suffered a mild heart attack the day before Christmas had to wait almost three days for transport to hospital in Galway.Councillor Paul O’Grady raised the issue at last night’s Tuam Town Council meeting. The councillor asked what would have happened if the man, who lived alone, died and who would be blamed for the hospital transport delay.Director of Services Frank Gilmore said the town clerk will write to the HSE requesting a meeting with the person replacing the retiring Ray Bonner to get an update for the next town council meeting on the promised Tuam Ambulance base.
