A Traveller-specific housing scheme will be officially launched later today at Circular Road in the city.
The development will involve the demolition of the former halting site, which is located near Westside Playing Fields.
The group housing scheme will see the construction of five new energy-efficient modern homes.
Galway City Council, in partnership with CENA Approved Housing Body, will officially launch Bóithrín na Saoirse at 11.30 this morning.
