Thousands of school goers in Galway may be left by the side of the road this September.According to Senator Fidelma Healy Eames, school children may be at risk of having no school transport if Bus Eireann fails to increase prices paid to private bus contractors. She says that a number of Galway Bus operators, are worried that the surge in fuel prices is not being taken into consideration by Bus Eireann. Many of the bus operators will refuse to sign contracts with Bus Eireann if there is no increase to match the rise in fuel.In Galway, there are over 100 bus routes involved and thousands of school children at primary and secondary level will be affected.
