Tenders sought for Galway European Capital of Culture bid
Galway Bay fm newsroom - Tenders are being sought for the management of Galway's bid for European Capital of Culture 2020.
The work will involve a series of stages in the pre-selection phase of the bid process, and will also include public consultation work.
Each year, two cities are chosen as European Capitals of Culture in what has become one of the most high-profile cultural events in Europe.The initiative aims to highlight the richness and diversity of European cultures.Speaking at a special media briefing this afternoon, City Manager Brendan McGrath says Galway's bid, which will be undertaken in collaboration with Galway County Council, will have a very strong regional emphasis.Tenders will be sought from this evening for a management team who will work with interim governance panels within the City Council.The deadline for receipt of tenders is March 21st.
