TEAM TO SCRUTINISE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL GALWAY ACTIVITY

The CEO of St.James' hospital in Dublin, Ian Carter, will lead a team of health experts in carrying out a review of University Hospital Galway next week.

The team or Special delivery unit will conduct a two-day performance diagnostic analysis at the city hospital from next Tuesday.

The analysis will identify areas of underperformance and the SDU will then publish recommendations to improve the facility.

A similar review carried out on the regional in Limerick proposed 13 recommendations, which must be implemented at the hospital as a matter of urgency.

Senator Fidelma Healy Eames is optimistic this review will help staff and patients at UHG.
