TAXI OVERCROWDING IN GALWAY TO BE EASED

The major problem of taxi overcrowding in Galway should be eased following announcements by the taxi regulator this afternoon.The number of new taxi and hackney licences being issued is to be cut back.From next year, only wheelchair accessible vehicles will get a licence.The Taxi Regulator has also announced that existing licences will only be transferable once more.New licences will not be transferable.
