Expect outrageous misunderstandings and hilarious consequences at Nun’s Island Theatre, when Galway Community College PLC Theatre Performance Course students stage their annual production. This year show consists of three one-act plays by the sixteenth century French master of comedy and farce, Molière on February 9 and 10.

In Sgarenelle the audience can enjoy displays of misconception and dramatic irony. This is followed by Two Precious Maidens, a tale of two over-indulged girls, who are longing for the ultimate socialites to bring them into the high life of Paris. The girls are duped by two unassuming servants. But who gets the last laugh?

The final act, The Forced Marriage is a sort of anti-comedy in which an older gentlemen rethinks his enthusiasm for marriage, moving towards doubt, ignorance and spiritual isolation as he finds his young bride to be is not all that she seems.

An Evening of Molière will showcase the abundance of highly talented students that we have enrolled on the course this year”, says course co-ordinator Lorraine O' Hara, who is also directing the performance.

Tickets are €10. For bookings and information contact Galway Community College on (091) 755464.
