STRONG OPPOSITION TO MERLIN PARK HOUSING DEVELOPMENT

Plans by O'Malley Construction to build 66 houses on the Doughiska Road in Merlin Park are facing oppositionRaymond Walsh has appealed the city council's decision to grant permission for the houses to An Bord Pleanala.He's a tenant of a commercial unit situated on the lands subject to the planning application.In a letter of objection to An Bord Pleanala, it's claimed the commercial unit will have to be demolished to facilitate the housing development.Mr Walsh says this would seriously affect his ability to continue his business.
