Fine Gael TD Brian Walsh has pledged to support students in the upcoming budget following a protest outside his constituency office in Bohermore.

A small number of students gathered outside the office and handed over their shirts as symbolic gesture of the impact of education cuts.

The demonstration was organised by Ógra Shinn Féin who believe Fine Gael is following the same route as the previous Government in hiking education fees.

Deputy Brian Walsh was not at the office for the demonstration, so the students spoke with his parliamentary assistant Pat Flaherty.

Galway Bay fm news caught up with Deputy Walsh and he said that he's fully opposed to full introduction of fees.
