SEARCH FOR MISSING MAN TO RESUME AT FIRST LIGHT

Search teams will gather in Oranmore at first light to decide on todays strategy for locating a man seen entering the water in the city yesterday morning.

The 19 year old was seen entering the water near O'Brien's bridge at around 2.45am.

Valentia coastguard co-ordinated the shannon based helicopter search and two units of Galway city fire brigade assisted efforts on the ground.

This morning teams will gather in Oranmore to decide on todays strategy for searches along the coast.
