Date Published: 02-Nov-2012
Protestors are to gather in the city tomorrow afternoon [Sat Nov 3] as part of a campaign against the death penalty.
The demonstration is led by Amnesty International and will involve a march through the city to reach Eyre Sqaure at 4pm.
It's being held in conjunction with the Amnesty International Youth Conference which is also being held in the city this weekend.
50 people are expected to take part in the awareness raising campaign with 20 activists representing each country where an execution was carried out by death penalty in 2011.
Marie-Ann Michel of the Galway Amnesty group says people need to stand up against the death penalty.
