'Fair play for all construction workers'.

That's the message from a group of over 40 protestors who joined trade union representatives as part of a demonstration outside NUI Galway today.

The group of unemployed construction workers and trade union reps have now dispersed after they gathered at the entrance to the Arts Millennium building at University Road.

It's over claims that trade union officials have been denied access to a publically funded project on campus.

They claim this is contrary to industry custom and prevents the union from ensuring Registered Employment Agreements are complied with.

The campaign is supported by the Building and Allied Trades Union, Operative Plasterers and Allied Trades Society of Ireland, SIPTU, the TEEU and the Union of Construction Allied Trades and Technicians.
